Do you ever feel sorry for people that held great power but grew up with not so great lives that tainted them?

I mean people such as Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, Pol Pot, Caligula, Nero, Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden, Benito Mussolini, Hideki Tojo, Grigori Rasputin, etc. A lot of these people just didn't have the best lives, had bad upbringings (emotional and sometimes financial), and never quite fit in. Anyway, do you ever feel sorry for them, and forgive them.
