The solution is simple. When you go out take enough money for yourself only (and to get home safely of course). When your friend asks for a drink say "sorry, I am on a bit of a budget myself so I am buying my own tonight". If you want to be really cheeky, you could say "anyway, you owe me a few drinks"!.
