Question about sodomy!!?!?!?!!?

ok. i am in 7th grade and i am writing a report about leonardo da vinci. he was accused of sodomy. should actually use the word sodomy??? is that a bad word?? LOL what are some other ways that i can put that because i dont want my presentation of my report to be awkward. PLEASE HELP!!! BEST ANSWER GETS 10 POINTS!!!! :-D
